Johnson Goes Home

Veteran broadcast host Patrick Johnson will return to his roots, August 25, as the lead local host on 94.3 The Game in Greenville. Johnson started his career in Greenville as an East Carolina University student and since has had an impressive career in radio and TV. He also once served as co-host with Henry Hinton on the local show Talk of the Town on 103.7 WTIB. Johnson has most recently been the morning show anchor on the legendary Raleigh AM station WPTF.

“We are so excited that Patrick has agreed to return to Greenville”, said Hank Hinton, Vice President of Inner Banks Media. “Patrick is the perfect addition to our great Sports Talk lineup. He’s a real pro and quite a fun guy to listen to. ECU Pirate fans will love his new show on The Game.”

“This is a very exciting time to return to Greenville — a city I have always loved — and to return to talking about sports on-air is an exciting opportunity,” Johnson said.

  1. Isn’t that a huge step backwards to from morning host at WPTF to an hour in the afternoon on a sports talk station in Greenville?

  2. So glad for Patrick, but I miss him so much on the WPTF Morning Show. He is just a natural for radio and especially awesome for the morning drive to work. He has great nimbleness to move quickly and easily from one discussion to another. The morning show is just not the same without his quick wit and great conversations with local and national personalities. Wishing you the best, Patrick. I hope to see you on the national scene eventually. You’ve got what it takes.
