Conservative iHeart talker Jesse Kelly is standing his ground after a tweet received some backlash on social media. Kelly was attending his son’s Lego robotics tournament when he fired this tweet: “you’ve never seen this many depressed father’s [sic] in one place.” Naturally, some people were offended. However, Kelly is not apologizing.
Kelly said he will not be apologizing because he was joking. He told Chron.com, “I’ll probably do it again. I think it’s hilarious, as does everyone with a sense of humor.”
Lego robotics is a competition for kids that involves programming autonomous robots to complete tasks.
Kelly is a Marine Corps combat veteran and former congressional candidate in Arizona.
He hosts 7-8 p.m. weekdays on iHeart’s KPRC-AM in Houston.
