On Wednesday, Great Lakes Media CEO Tom Langmyer announced four additions to his leadership team, including John Gehron and Gabe Hobbs. He also said GLM now plans to purchase stations in major markets as opposed to middle and smaller markets.

Langmyer announced several appointments to GLM’s Board of Advisors and Senior Leadership Team. John Gehron, Chairman of AccuRadio, joins Great Lakes Media Corp. as Board Advisor. Gabe Hobbs has been hired as Sr. Vice President for Broadcast. Chris Petersen is the new Sr. Vice President of Business & Corporate Development. And Bill Zaccheo takes the job of Sr. Vice President for Digital.

Langmyer said, “In building our company, we’ve been fortunate to partner with some of the most successful, respected, and admired leaders in media. John Gehron, Chris Petersen, Bill Zaccheo, and Gabe Hobbs represent the first announced in a stellar group of people that will build tomorrow’s LOCAL media platform model.”

Great Lakes Media Corp. was formed in November of 2018 with the initial intent of targeting media acquisitions in small communities. Langmyer says interest and support shifted Great Lakes’ focus toward the media properties and groups which operate in larger markets. “The vision remains the same, which is to invest in radio stations and digital platforms and to grow them as true ‘local’ brands.”

The company is meeting with investors, brokers, and others who are interested in specific markets, and has plans to announce appointments of additional officers and partners in the weeks ahead.
