A new fundraising record was set at the Broadcasters Foundation of America’s 2019 Golden Mike Award gala last week, which was attended by over 300 people at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The record $450,000 that was raised included a $100,000 personal donation from Nexstar CEO Perry Sook and his wife, Dr. Sandy Sook. Mr. Sook was honored at the event. He announced the donation during his acceptance speech to overwhelming applause.
