Radio Is Not Dead

That’s according to Ben Downs of Bryan Broadcasting. Downs was interviewed by KBTX-TV Texas about his recent election into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame and the future of radio. Downs says radio is still strong becauseof its ability to have local relationships with people. He also discussed how he’s trying to improve AM Radio by working with The FCC.   1. It’s not so much the technology. It’s the programming – across the board.
    The elements include Talent and the use of these folks, commercial writing and, of course, the moronic continuation of the spot phustercluck strategy.
    These goofy approaches are almost Trumpian in scale, and as confusing to other reasonable people.
    The boys & girls in management can’t even take responsibility for or respond to the opportunities that are still available to commercial radio.
    So, yeah. In that case: It’s the technology.

  2. In that the industry has to keep telling people it is not dead, it is dead. This technology has outlived its useful life.
