With the addition of WTQS-AM (with an FM translator at 97.1), Community Broadcasters now has three stations carrying its News Talk Network in South Carolina. CEO Bruce Mittman says, “The Orangeburg addition gives us three cities and three stations under the Community Broadcaster Network umbrella.”
Mittman says Community Broadcasters is the only News Talk network covering the underserved “I-Corridor,” reaching Florence, Sumter, and now Orangeburg with their morning show Wake Up Carolina! hosted by former Lt. Governor Ken Ard.
The I-Corridor is so named due to the convergence of three separate interstates: I-20, I-95, and I-26.
