John Zach will join WECK Radio (AM 1230 & FM 102.9) in Buffalo as News Director on July 10. Zach has been an announcer in the city for over two decades and was most recently heard as morning news anchor at WBEN, where he worked since 1998. He is also well known for his many years behind the radio microphone at WKBW and WGR. Zach, a 2002 inductee into Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame, will anchor news on WECK’s weekday morning show. The addition of CBS Radio News also greatly enhances the information elements on WECK, which is shifting away from mostly syndicated and satellite programming to a live and local full-service format, under new local ownership.
