President Trump intends to nominate Democrat Jessica Rosenworcel to return to the Federal Communications Commission after her term lapsed at the end of last year. She would need to be confirmed by the Senate. Rosenworcel’s first five-year term expired in May 2016 but she stayed on until the end of the year.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai congratulated Rosenworcel on her nomination to serve another term. “She has a distinguished record of public service, including the four-and-a-half years we worked together at this agency, and I look forward to working with her once again to advance the public interest.”

NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith said he’s delighted to hear Rosenworcel will be back. “Commissioner Rosenworcel is supremely qualified for another FCC term, having demonstrated her public service credentials and full command of telecommunications issues during her Commission tenure. NAB strongly supports her renomination and confirmation.”
