Once again, radio has shone in its charitable work. This time it’s Cox’s Atlanta station News 95.5 and AM750 WSB (WSB-AM/WSBB-FM) which hosted the 17th annual WSB Care-A-Thon from 5 a.m. on July 27 until 6 p.m. on July 28. The incredible total raised was a new record for the event, and goes to research and programs at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Condace Pressley, Georgia Radio Hall of Famer and WSB Radio’s Manager of Program Operations and Community Affairs, said of the milestone, “Seventeen years ago, we were introduced to the lifesaving work happening at the Aflac Cancer Center. WSB shared those amazing stories with our listeners, and their response has been overwhelming. To raise a record-setting $1,750,000 shows the power radio can have for good in the local community.”

“We are eternally grateful to News 95.5 and AM750 WSB for lending their powerful and highly respected voice to raise funds for and awareness of the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center through the WSB Care-A-Thon,” said Douglas K. Graham, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “We are deeply appreciative of the remarkable relationship we enjoy with the entire WSB Radio family.”
