Everybody is trying to do anything they can to help the victims of the deadly shooting in Las Vegas, from donating to a GoFundMe account to giving blood. No doubt radio stations across the country will start their own fundraisers and events to help. That’s what radio does. Here’s a list of how others in the radio industry plan to cover this still unfolding news story…

Salem Radio Network host Mike Gallagher will originate his nationally syndicated talk show from Las Vegas Tuesday with “second-day leads” from police officials, first responders, and others involved in the tragedy.

When the news broke, ABC News Radio immediately began providing live coverage beginning at 2:45 a.m. ET, anchored by correspondent Brad Mielke, who was joined by correspondent Alex Stone in Las Vegas. ABC News Radio continued with up to six one-minute status reports each hour and a one-hour special Monday night at 7:06 p.m. ET anchored by correspondent Scott Goldberg.

NASH Nights Live with Shawn Parr and Elaina Smith had special programming Monday night, remembering those who lost their lives and praying for those who are fighting for their lives.

Cumulus and Westwood One began immediate coverage overnight with Red Eye Radio (Westwood One) reporting on the shootings. The NASH Morning Show, (Ty, Kelly & Chuck) picked it up at 5:00 a.m. with reports on the scene from eye witnesses, artists, and managers. Cumulus also reported on many country stations and carried Westwood One News updates on its News/Talk platform. Cumulus’ KRST in Albuquerque had winners of a trip to the event on-site. KHAY/Ventura had staff and winners at the event. They provided information to our stations and network.

Benztown’s Justin Case produced two tribute montages to the victims of the Las Vegas shootings. You can listen to the audio clips HERE.
