Radio companies pay professional sports teams big bucks for the right to broadcast their games on their radio stations. That trend will continue, according to a new report from PricewaterhouseCoopers. The firm says media rights for sports from TV, radio, and Internet platforms will climb 5.6% to $20.1 billion in 2018, up from $19 billion in 2017. The company also estimates that media rights will continue to go up every year and is predicting the category will hit $22.7 billion in 2021.
